An Evening with Girl’s Day Out!

Last week I was invited to the Girl’s Day Out Blogger Event for a sneak peek of what to expect at the show in December. Girl’s Day Out Show is a fun, fabulous day out from the 2nd-4th of December at the SECC, Glasgow. With more than 200 exhibitors, two cocktail bars and a live catwalk show, it’s a great day out (or as I see it, any excuse for cocktails and shopping)!

imageThe Blogger Event was at the Metropolitan Cocktail Bar in Merchant City, a gorgeous venue perfect for it. Read on to find out what an evening is like – Girl’s Day Out style…

The Venue

The Girl’s Day Out Blogger Event was held at Metropolitan in Merchant City, Glasgow, which was a perfect venue for the event. We were directed to a private room which I didn’t even know existed – my previous visits must have involved far too many cocktails! We were then sat at big round tables, set with beautiful flowers, a grand candelabra and wine coolers of Prosecco. There was a giant goody bag on our seats which I managed to resist looking at until I left (more on that later on!).

What we ate & drank

img_1077Metropolitan had kindly provided Afternoon Tea and Prosecco which went down a treat! The afternoon tea consisted of gorgeous wee cakes including mini strawberry tarts, lemon meringue pies and macarons oh and of course, scones served with jam and cream! There was also plates of yummy sandwiches. The afternoon tea will be available at the Girl’s day Out Show in December, I would highly recommend it!

What we got up to

After we were seated, had our Prosecco poured and tried a few of the delicious cakes, it was time to get started. The Girl’s Day Out Show Events Manager, Julia Girvan, was up first telling us all about the Girl’s Day Out Show and what to expect in December. A speaker was up next from Fake Bake who told us a bit about Fake Bake and its ‘Real Women’ campaign. Fake Bake founder Sandra McClumpha was also at the event and gave some insight to what the fake tan trends will be in 2017.

Up next was the gorgeous Ashleigh Anderson from F.A.C.E. Semi-Permanent & Cosmetic Make Up Studio. She talked about the process of having your eyebrows semi-permanently tattooed, and explained how she looks at the skin tone, hair colour, face shape and even muscle movement before starting to make sure the brows are perfect for each individual. Her make up and brows were incredible so I think I will definitely be booking in there soon, as I am desperate to get my brows done!

After a short break to fill our glasses and nibble yet more cakes (they were SO good!) it was time for the girls from Urban Decay. Danielle Roberts and Lauren Howden talked us through the new releases from Urban Decay, upcoming beauty trends and how EVERYONE should own at least one of the iconic Urban Decay Naked Palettes!

Finally, the ladies from Urban Hair and Beauty were on to tell us about their salon and the hair trends for 2017. They also talked about the new Ariane Poole make up range which they stock in their salon and will be exhibiting the range at Girl’s Day Out.

After the talks, we then mingled, chatted to other bloggers, took selfies for the Girl’s Day Out Snapchat and had a nosy at the stands. Urban Decay had a make up display to try some of their products, Massage & Glow were offering mini massages and Urban Hair and Beauty were doing hair demonstrations. There was also a wee stand from Yerba Water with samples of the tea, which claims to be even better for you than Green Tea!

The Goodie Bag

imageThere are no words to explain my excitement when I finally looked in my Goodie Bag, out of all the goodie bags, this is hands down one of the best I have ever received! Filled with goodies from Fake Bake, Candelle & Co, Ruby Cosmetics, Benefit, Glove Your Body and Coco Chocolatiers to name a few. Oh, and there was a delicious cupcake from Bumblebee Bakehouse!

Overall, it was an amazing evening, and would like to thank Girl’s Day Out for inviting me.
