GLAMGLOW Supermud Clearing Treatment Review

glamglow edited

Every now and then it’s essential to have a good pamper sesh. For me, essentials include; a hot bubble bath, glass of wine, chilled eye pads and of course, a face mask. Since moving to Barcelona and living slap bang in a city centre with lots of cars and pollution, I have been very conscious about keeping my skin clean and free of impurities. I had heard lots of great things about GLAMGLOW so when they offered to send me a facemask to review I was very excited to try it! Here is how I got on trying the Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment*…

What GLAMGLOW say: “Our most Advanced Clearing Treatment. Developed by GLAMGLOW® to help fight common skin concerns. Designed For Men & Women. SUPERMUD® for Super Clear Super Poreless-looking Skin.

“Apply a thin layer to clean skin. Leave on for 5 – 20 minutes and remove with water. Use as a Full Face Mask or Spot Treatment as often as needed. Avoid eye area. Use a sunscreen and limit sun exposure while using the week after.”

What I say: My skin has been pretty dry from the change in water/climate and had a few hormonal spots on my chin so was really looking forward to trying this. The fact that you can’t use on sensitive skin or go in the sun much for a week after using it shows that this stuff means business and is no generic nicey-nicey face mask! I applied it only to the T-Zone and on the spots on my chin to start with rather than the full face application. I used a cheap foundation brush from Primark to apply it and it was sooo easy.

img_7883It goes on a dark grey/black colour, then once it starts drying it turns a khaki green colour. I could feel it working straight away, my forehead especially, as it felt freezing cold, like brain freeze! It started to tighten up quite quickly and little dots started appearing around my nose. This is due to the “Pore-Matrix” properties, that “attracts toxins and dirt from the deepest and toughest areas.” I stupidly forgot to take any ‘before’ shots but i’m thinking to maybe do a vlog (first one ever!) testing this product as a full face application… If i’m brave enough!

The Verdict

First of all, I LOVE the packaging, the sleek and modern design is very luxurious. The face mask itself is amazing, I could really feel it working. The tingling is bearable however, I wouldn’t recommend it if you have sensitive skin like the packaging says. After 15-20 mins I washed it off and it came off super easy with warm water. I couldn’t believe how soft my skin felt and I definitely noticed a difference in my pores, they were a lot less noticeable. It wasn’t until the next morning I noticed my spots had almost completely disappeared! I was actually in shock!

I am a total Glamglow convert now and would recommend it to anyone (who doesn’t have sensitive skin). For those wanting to try the black peel-off masks, (DON’T DO IT! Read why here ), I would definitely encourage you to try this one instead. Glamglow have now increased the size of this product but kept the price the same. At £39 for 50g, it’s a tad more expensive than usual facemasks, however it’s not necessary to apply it to the full face. The 34g jar I received will last  for 17 full face applications or 1000 uses for spot treatment. Overall, I am in love with Glamglow and can’t wait to try some more of their products. I am officially a GLAMAHOLIC!

GLAMGLOW Supermud Clearing Treatment*, £39 for 50g is available at Sephora, Boots, Marks & Spencers, Debenhams or shop online here!
