KIKO Kiss Balm Review

Lip balm, pinky coral colour, lid on, box in background, pink box, on a marble background

I was having a browse in one of my favourite make up stores, KIKO, at the weekend looking at their new products. I came across their range of Kiss Balm’s and with Valentine’s day coming up, I thought it would be perfect to review! I chose Tutti Frutti (03), a pinky-coral shade. Here is what I thought of it… Continue reading

Shadow Switch Dry Brush Cleaner Review

img_0179If there’s one thing that annoys me when it comes to applying make-up, it’s all the brushes required when using eyeshadow. A smokey eye requires at least 3 different shadows which means using three brushes. However, this was all before I discovered the Shadow Switch Dry Brush Cleaner* by Beauty Essentials. It has genuinely revolutionised my make-up routine. Intrigued? Read on to find out more…

Last week I was invited to the Girl’s Day Out Blogger Event for a sneak peek of what to expect at the show in December. Girl’s Day Out Show is a fun, fabulous day out from the 2nd-4th of December at the SECC, Glasgow. With more than 200 exhibitors, two cocktail bars and a live catwalk show, it’s a great day out (or as I see it, any excuse for cocktails and shopping)!

imageThe Blogger Event was at the Metropolitan Cocktail Bar in Merchant City, a gorgeous venue perfect for it. Read on to find out what an evening is like – Girl’s Day Out style…

Kiss The Moon Beauty Oils: The Review

When I discovered that around a third of people in the UK are believed to suffer from insomnia, I was glad I wasn’t the only one. After suffering from sleepless nights, I was intrigued after coming across Kiss the Moon natural beauty oils*.

Kiss the moon 1

I must admit, I’ve never really been an ‘essential oils user’, it’s just never really been my thing. However, after a string of sleepless nights I was ready to try ANYTHING. The lovely people at Kiss the Moon sent me a little kit to help me nod off and I was more than excited to try it. Here is how I got on…

The Product

I was sent a kit that contained; a mini “Dream” Bath Oil, a mini “Love” Face Oil and a gorgeous silky satin eye mask.

The “Dream” bath oil is made from a blend of Jasmine, Roman Chamomile and Sandalwood. By adding a few drops to your bath, this oil is designed to help daily stresses fade away.

“Love” is made from Rose, Frankincense and Ylang Ylang, which claims to support the body’s night time cell renewal.

The oils are in dinky little bottles with dropper lids, which made for an easy application and you could control exactly how much oil you want to use. The eye mask is also black, with a stretchy strap so it stays put all night.kiss the moon 3

What Kiss the Moon Said: “All our products aim to get you into the right frame of mind for sleep and, at the same time, provide your skin with the nutrients it needs as it repairs itself overnight. So every drop is doubly good for you.

“A range of 100% natural beauty oils that help prepare you for a good night’s rest and nourish your skin and your soul while you sleep.

“Everyone’s skin is different and there’s an array of things that can get in the way of a peaceful night’s sleep. We’ve tapped into a wealth of soothing ingredients nature provides to create four signature blends that deliver a beautiful bedtime, so you’ll be able to find your perfect night-time match.”

What I said: There is nothing more satisfying than a good night’s sleep and if there is something to help with that, I will happily try it… And I am so glad I tried this. After a soothing cup of camomile tea I rubbed the face oil into my skin after cleansing. Unfortunately I don’t have a bath in my flat, but I dropped a few drops of the bath “Dream” oil on my pillowcase the next day and let it dry. The oils truly helped me nod off and I woke up rested and chirpy – which is unusual!

I loved the packaging, all black with cute little ‘Alice in Wonderland’ style tags. The eye mask is so comfy to use, perfect for the lighter mornings and so soft against the skin!

The Verdict

If you are having trouble nodding off, I would definitely recommend trying these wee oils. It is said that our body repairs itself when we sleep, therefore is so important to get a good night’s kip. Knowing that these oils are made with only natural ingredients and contain no harsh chemicals or artificial perfumes, it gave me peace of mind that I wasn’t putting anything nasty on my skin while I sleep. Overall, it’s a great wee kit and would be great for either a quirky gift, or for yourself. Now grab a bottle of oils, put on your eye mask and kiss the moon…Sweet dreams! Xx

Kiss The Moon Oils* are available online here.  Prices start at £9.50.

BOE Matte Lip Cream Review

I couldn’t possibly travel to New Zealand and not buy make up in the month I was there! I picked up these wee beauties at The Warehouse for $2 each, that’s £1! I couldn’t wait to try my Matte Lip Creams by BOE  out and see if it’s true that you get what you pay for… and I was so happy to discover they are amazing!

The colours are so pigmented and beautifully matte without being dull. Blush Pink is a gorgeous dusky pink andShocking Pink reminds me so much of MAC “Girl About Town”.

With a few applications and blotting they last for ages, fading gradually leaving a nice tint.

They can be worn on their own, but when I was playing about with them, I tried them together with the lighter pink in the middle and I really liked it!
