Anyone who knows me is aware that I have an eyebrow obsession. I have been using eyebrow products since I was an early teen after I had an awful eyebrow wax that left me with sparse, patchy brows. Straight after it I rushed to Superdrug and bought my first Rimmel eyebrow pencil. Ten years on I’m still using Rimmel’s eyebrow pencil.
So when I was looking for a compact palette to take on holiday, (instead of my Beautiful Brows powder which I use religiously) I came across ‘Brow This Way’ Brow Sculpting Kit, £3.99 and had to try it. Here are the results to getting fabulous brows in five easy steps…
The palette consists of two parts, the wax and the powder. The wax is used first and is used to tidy the brows and give definition. The powder is then used to give the eyebrows a natural tint and not leave a shiny, waxy residue. The kit comes with a double-ended slanted brush, with a hard brush for the wax and a soft brush for the powder. There is also a brow combing brush to tidy them up before applying the product.
Step one: Make sure you face is cleansed and dry so there is a fresh canvas for the product to be applied to.
Step two: I used an eyebrow pencil first, only because my eyebrowshave no shape whatsoever but you can skip this part if you don’t need to. I used Professional Eyebrow Pencil, Rimmel, £2.99 in 001 Dark Brown. I used the pencil to make an outline. Don’t worry if it’s not perfect, you can tidy it up later.
Step three: I then filled in the shape with the wax using the harder brush. Apply a little at a time for an even application.
Step four: After the wax, I used the soft end of the brush and applied the powder, again a little at a time.
Step five: To finish off, apply concealer around the eyebrows to define the brows and tidy up any mistakes.
I was really impressed with this palette. It’s ideal for going on holiday or keeping in your handbag for touch ups. It is the smallest eyebrow kit I have seen and a great price at under a fiver. I also love the colour, I used shade 003 Dark Brown and it was a perfect match for me, not too dark. The combination of the wax and powder works really well as it is important for the eyebrows to look three-dimensional, not two-dimensional and flat. Overall, this is a great palette and fantastic if you’re looking for gorgeous brows on a budget!
