Fake tan lovers, we have all been there. It’s Fake Tan Thursday and you’re applying your favourite tan, bursting with excitement to be a bronzed goddess for the weekend.
Anyone who is a regular reader of Cocktails & Fairytales will know I am a huge Korres fan. I have been using their products for years and their Body Milks are my go-to body moisturiser. It is not very often that you find products that are made with so many natural ingredients and are so reasonably priced. Enter Korres! Korres is a Greek skincare brand with homeopathic roots, using ingredients in its products such as; honey, yogurt and rose petals.
I have tried just about every Korres collection there is, so when I found out they were bringing out an Almond Cherry* range I couldn’t wait to try it! As a lover of cherry bakewell cakes, this was right up my street. Here is what I thought of them…
Almond Cherry Body Milk
What Korres say: “Velvet aroma of sweet almond and fresh cherries. Moisturising body milk, enriched with vitamins and trace elements, essential skin energy boosting agents. The combination of Almond oil, active Aloe, provitamin B5 and Shea butter provides long-lasting hydration while enhancing skin suppleness. Dermatologically Tested.”
What I say: I am a masssive fan of Korres Body Milks and use them regularly. They are perfect for applying when you have fake-tanned as they are Mineral Oil- free, which will strip your tan and leave it patchy. This one is no different, it is free of Mineral Oil, Paraffin Wax and Silicones and is made up of a huge 92.3% natural content! The scent is light and sweet without being sickly and overpowering – no artificial fruit smells here. The thick, luxurious moisturising cream sinks in almost straight away and doesn’t leave a greasy finish. I also love the easy-to-use packaging and the unusual design on the bottle.
Almond Cherry Showergel
What Korres say: “Velvet aroma of sweet almond and fresh cherries. Creamy-foam showergel with wheat proteins and Althea extract, helps maintain skin’s natural moisture levels. Soft moisturising showergel, ideal for everyday use. Wheat proteins form a protective film on the skin, maintaining its regular hydration level. Dermatologically Tested.”
What I say: With 87.2% natural content and smelling SO good, it is so tempting to eat this! (PLEASE DON’T!). This thick, sweet gel smells delicious and lathers up to produce lots of soapy bubbles. I was so surprised how soft and supple it left my skin. The packaging was shower-friendly – no fumbly screw lids etc.
As a Korres fan I was almost certain I would love this set before I even tried it, and how right I was! The sweet, delicate smell of almond and cherry is perfect for this time of year and both products left my skin so soft. If you have never tried any of Korres products I would definitely recommend them as it is good to know exactly what you are putting on your skin!

The best thing about trying new brands is when you come across a product that you love!
I discovered this brand of fake tan whilst browsing online. As a massive fan of fake tan, I couldn’t wait to try it out.
Never heard of For All My Eternity before? The brand says: “We use only the finest natural active ingredients, certified organic DHA, organic oils, natural extracts and antioxidants to create our products. Our entire range is paraben-free, SLS-free, and alcohol-free, and we pride ourselves on giving our customers the best possible experience every time they purchase one of our products”.
Their range is also not tested on animals and doesn’t use any animal-derived products, which is a bonus.
So, the million dollar question, “Is it any good?” And the answer to that is yes!
I tried out the For All My Eternity Spray Tan* in Medium to Dark and this spray is by far the best I’ve tried. Instructions say to use a mitt, which I did and it was easy to apply. There is a slight tint which is great so you can see where you are applying it to prevent leaving streaks. However, it is still important to take extra care when applying. For more tips, they have a section on their website, click here.
It is really moisturising and dried quickly. I tried the medium-dark, which developed into a gorgeous deep bronze colour, and was long lasting. The best thing about it is that it isn’t an aerosol, so a lot does go a long way.
It’s a professional tanning spray which means it can also be attached to an air compressor and air brush system, by simply unscrewing the top and pouring the solution into your machine cup.
I also used it on my face, something I am always very wary of. However, it did give me a great colour but did gather a bit around my nose but that will just be down to my application.
Overall, I am very impressed, I love the colour and I will be trying more from For All My Eternity in the future!

When I heard about a tan that claims to last 2-3 weeks I was intrigued.
Claiming to last 4 times more than any other fake tan, it seemed too good to be true.
The tan says: “The new pHenomenal 2-3 week Tan Lotion incorporates revolutionary pHenO2 technology to deliver a natural bronze tan that lasts up to 4 times longer than any other tan in the world. The new luxurious lightweight lotion formula includes Moisture LockTM that draws water to the skin surface and locks it there for 72 hours leaving skin thoroughly plumped and hydrated. (2-3 weeks= lasts up to four times longer than regular tans.)”
Well, I found that it doesn’t last over a fortnight without more applications – like any other fake tan would. However, the instructions do state that it does depend on the Ph levels of your skin, so maybe it will last longer on others. It is easy to apply, and a little goes a long way. Also, it does fade evenly and produces an amazing colour, which makes up for it. It did make my skin nice and soft, and the colour was amazing.
It is pricey, therefore I would keep it for going out rather than everyday use. It goes on easily and goes far so you don’t use much per application which makes it last. It was also revealed last week that this is loved by Kim Kardashian, and if it’s good enough for Kim K, it’s good enough for me!

With the addition of a new Superdrug store recently opening in the Glasgow Fort, the beauty habits of Scottish women have been revealed. When it comes to pampering and preening, us Scottish lassies love quick cleansing, body fragrance and maintaining our eyebrows, according to Superdrug.
We love making sure our brows are groomed to perfection and have embraced brow threading. Brow threading originated in India and the Far East and can be carried out across any of the 24 Brow Bars across Scottish Superdrug stores.
Over 29,000 brow threading treatments have been carried out in Scotland since the beginning of June, making it the second best selling product in Scotland.
It has also been revealed that we favour a fuss-free beauty regime, with over 145,000 packs of face wipes sold in the last two months – that’s 7 packs a minute!
Another top seller is Impulse, a favourite since 1981, shifted more than 72,000 bottles since June.
Simon Comins, Superdrug Buying Director said: “Our countrywide sales data always makes for interesting reading, and Scotland is no different. Scottish shoppers are clearly fans of speedy beauty, from on-the-spot threading to quick and easy.”
