Now that we are entering winter, the signs of dry, dull skin are starting to appear. From the heating being on full blast to the change in climate, our poor skin really suffers during this time of year. So, in a bid to keep my face hydrated, I have been on the lookout for moisturisers to test. Continue reading

Summer Beauty Buys!

Whether you are lucky enough to be going away, or you have decided to stay in Scotland for the buzz of the Games, it’s time to get your summer make up sorted! We have put together a few items that will ensure you are looking downright gorgeous this summer!

Lanolips Lip Ointment with Colour, £7.99, www.victoriahealth.com

This moisturising lip gloss is made with Lanolin, which is a natural substance taken from freshly shorn sheep’s wool. It sounds weird but it’s super moisturising. I’ve previously steered away from sticky gloss and switched to matte lippy, however this product has been my favourite since I tried it. It’s perfect for summer as it has a SPF of 15.

Oxygenetix Oxygenating Foundation, £45, www.oxygenetix.com

If you read Life & Style section every week you will recognise this product from The Big Review a few weeks ago. I had to include it in this feature as this really is a summer must-have. The high-tech foundation has super-strength staying power. Loved by the Kardashians, it is transfer-resistant and sweat resistant. It covers skin imperfections and red patches meaning less concealer is needed. It is ideal for summer as it means you need to wear less makeup and it is also contains SPF25 so it is good for your skin.

Hoola Bronzing Powder, £23.50, BenefitHoola

This is one of my favourite products of all time. Hoola is a bronzing powder with no sparkle, it gives a natural, bronzed look. The brush is perfect for contouring and the packaging is easy to use. Sweep this bronzer over your foundation for a healthy glow.

Loreal mascaraL’Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Black, £10.99, Boots

This mascara is possibly my favourite i’ve found so far. A pet hate of mine is clumpy mascara and this left my lashes clump-free. With different sizes bristles the brush covered all my lashes and fanned them out for that false-lash effect. It’s perfect for summer as it separated my lashes and provides either a laid back, natural look or layer it up for night time glamour.

Aromatherapy Associates Roland Mouret Final Finish Body Serum, £48,  aromatherapyassociates.com

Aromatherapy Associates have teamed up with fashion designer Roland Mouret to create this luxurious body serum that will leave
you with a hydrating glow. This cooling serum is scented with jasmine, neroli, and geranium, so it can be worn instead of perfume. I wouldn’t wear it throughout the day in the sun as it doesn’t contain SPF, but it is ideal if you’re going out at night after a day in the sun and want to soothe dry skin. It left my skin silky smooth and smelling amazing.
