Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that this year has just been one thing after the other since the bells chimed at midnight on January 1st. Then, just when we thought that 2020 couldn’t get any worse, Coronavirus hits.

Many countries are now on lockdown. Which means… a looong time of being stuck in the house! Obviously if you’re working from home, this will take up a chunk of your day, but the rest…?!

So, I have put together a list of 20 things to keep you busy/entertained/ amused while we’re stuck indoors…

EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR THE PERFECT VALENTINE’S / GALENTINE’S DAY – AND WHY I’M ANTI V-DAY

IMG_2176Ah, February 14th, Valentine’s Day – you either love it or hate it. Some see it as a day to spoil your other half with flowers and pressies or some believe it to be another commercialised date on the calendar, conning you into spending money on overpriced flowers and tacky teddy bears.

My NZ Trip in Photos…

img_2910Incase anyone has wondered where I have been for the last 6 weeks, I’ve been over in New Zealand for my mum’s 50th birthday! I had such a wonderful time and I did intend to blog while I was down under, but was so busy I never got a chance!

As I was over visiting family it was a more ‘spending time  with the fam’ holiday rather than a typical sightseeing trip so there are a lot of pictures of going out for lunch and seeing as NZ is well known for it’s coffee, a LOT of soya cappucinos!

If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you will have been kept up to date of my trip, but for those who haven’t seen them, here are a few snaps of what I was up to…

Has anyone been to Dunedin or anywhere else in New Zealand? I would love to hear what you think about it!

Kiss The Moon Beauty Oils: The Review

When I discovered that around a third of people in the UK are believed to suffer from insomnia, I was glad I wasn’t the only one. After suffering from sleepless nights, I was intrigued after coming across Kiss the Moon natural beauty oils*.

Kiss the moon 1

I must admit, I’ve never really been an ‘essential oils user’, it’s just never really been my thing. However, after a string of sleepless nights I was ready to try ANYTHING. The lovely people at Kiss the Moon sent me a little kit to help me nod off and I was more than excited to try it. Here is how I got on…

The Product

I was sent a kit that contained; a mini “Dream” Bath Oil, a mini “Love” Face Oil and a gorgeous silky satin eye mask.

The “Dream” bath oil is made from a blend of Jasmine, Roman Chamomile and Sandalwood. By adding a few drops to your bath, this oil is designed to help daily stresses fade away.

“Love” is made from Rose, Frankincense and Ylang Ylang, which claims to support the body’s night time cell renewal.

The oils are in dinky little bottles with dropper lids, which made for an easy application and you could control exactly how much oil you want to use. The eye mask is also black, with a stretchy strap so it stays put all night.kiss the moon 3

What Kiss the Moon Said: “All our products aim to get you into the right frame of mind for sleep and, at the same time, provide your skin with the nutrients it needs as it repairs itself overnight. So every drop is doubly good for you.

“A range of 100% natural beauty oils that help prepare you for a good night’s rest and nourish your skin and your soul while you sleep.

“Everyone’s skin is different and there’s an array of things that can get in the way of a peaceful night’s sleep. We’ve tapped into a wealth of soothing ingredients nature provides to create four signature blends that deliver a beautiful bedtime, so you’ll be able to find your perfect night-time match.”

What I said: There is nothing more satisfying than a good night’s sleep and if there is something to help with that, I will happily try it… And I am so glad I tried this. After a soothing cup of camomile tea I rubbed the face oil into my skin after cleansing. Unfortunately I don’t have a bath in my flat, but I dropped a few drops of the bath “Dream” oil on my pillowcase the next day and let it dry. The oils truly helped me nod off and I woke up rested and chirpy – which is unusual!

I loved the packaging, all black with cute little ‘Alice in Wonderland’ style tags. The eye mask is so comfy to use, perfect for the lighter mornings and so soft against the skin!

The Verdict

If you are having trouble nodding off, I would definitely recommend trying these wee oils. It is said that our body repairs itself when we sleep, therefore is so important to get a good night’s kip. Knowing that these oils are made with only natural ingredients and contain no harsh chemicals or artificial perfumes, it gave me peace of mind that I wasn’t putting anything nasty on my skin while I sleep. Overall, it’s a great wee kit and would be great for either a quirky gift, or for yourself. Now grab a bottle of oils, put on your eye mask and kiss the moon…Sweet dreams! Xx

Kiss The Moon Oils* are available online here.  Prices start at £9.50.
